    I am 63 yrs. I have been a high BP patient since 2013 and taking TELMA 40. I was having occasional constipation. But, recently, on addition of another BP medicine namely Amlodipine 5 mg (to betaken in the evening), I am experiencing severe constipation next day.     I take longer time around 25 to 30 minutes to pass stool. I need to go 2-3 such long times into toilet every day to pass the stool completely – 2 times in the morning and 1 time in the evening. I have to wait for 10-15 minutes each time first before the stool starts passing. Generally stool passing start with normal or tight stool and ends with loose or watery stool but it continue slowly for around 20 minutes. I bloat few times in the day.

    My son will be 3 next month. He has struggled with constipation since birth. It wasn’t so bad the first few months. He didn’t go everyday, but the stool was soft. He was formula fed and breast fed until I was able to fully breast feed around 5-6 months. At this time, I noticed his stool getting harder and he was straining to go.

    The older he got, the worse it got. When he was 1.5, we took him to a chiropractor who said he had bowel nerve damage and it was corrected through a series of adjustments. He started going on his own every other day. He had soft, formed stools.

    It all ended a couple months later. He developed a really bad case of diarrhea which was obviously painful. It cleaned him out to the point where he was passing mucous.

    When the virus passed and he got the urge to go, he would say “No poopies, go away!” We were right back where we started and he was labeled as “withholding.”

    We started him on Miralax. I took him off it after 2 months because he started severely stuttering. The constipation came back in full force. We were not able to manage it when all interventions failed – even adult sized fleet enemas. He ended up in the hospital for a full bowel cleanout using Miralax.

    He is currently on Miralax now and he goes everyday with it, but no other oral intervention will work. Enemas have serverely traumatized him.

    His rectum was confirmed to be 3 times the normal size as a result of the “withholding.”
